Product End of Life (EOL) Notice (XLPP*** - Secura PIN pad)
Important Changes From VeriFone
Each year VeriFone invests millions of pounds in R&D and product development to ensure that Secure Retail’s customers have available to them only the most secure and innovative payment solutions. In 2010 alone, VeriFone introduced 40 new products globally to reflect technological advances and market trends.
As part of the product life cycle, older products that do not meet future customer requirements naturally reach an EOL. Whilst the Secura PIN pad has been an extremely successful product, it no longer meets the needs of a market which demands features such as contactless/NFC, PCI PTS 3.0 and extended memory for value-added applications. VeriFone has therefore taken the decision to EOL the product.
Though the Secura PIN pad has reached EOL, Secure Retail will work with you to develop a cost-effective migration plan to a new VeriFone solution that will meet your business needs. VeriFone is already working with us, all major EFT software companies and EPOS partners to ensure a quick and seamless transition to their next generation PIN pad, the VX 820. This latest PIN pad from VeriFone has many features that address retailers’ needs in today’s demanding payment environment and Secure Retail is already investing in and stocking this line of PIN pad to support our customers. Key features include:
- Integrated contactless and NFC capabilities
- Large 3.5” colour and touch screen
- PCI PTS 3.0
- ARM 11 processor for extremely fast transaction speeds
- 160 MB of memory with the option of up to 500 MB for value-added applications such as loyalty and DCC
- E2EE - encrypts card data within the PIN pad for the ultimate in security
- Already integrates with many popular EFT solutions to ensure a seamless transition
However, with the Secura EOL there are a number of key dates that you need to be aware of:
Last time guaranteed order date of 11 November 2011
- Secure Retail will have to place final orders for Secura PIN pads on VeriFone by 19 November 2011.
- Secure Retail will therefore need orders placed by our customers by 11 November 2011 to guarantee supply.
- All orders placed by this date will need to be subject to a ship date of no later than 19 May 2012.
- To try and help our customers Secure Retail will be putting additional purchase order coverage in place with VeriFone for unexpected demand after 11 November 2011.
- Customers will be able to place orders on Secure Retail after 11 November 2011 but product availability will be limited and only available on a first come first served basis.
- NB: There will be no guarantee that Secure Retail will be able to supply any orders placed after 11 November 2011.
- Any orders placed after 11 November will be subject to a price increase due to the risk of Secure Retail holding stock with no customer purchase order coverage in place. To avoid these price rises please place your orders by 11 November 2011.
End of support date of 19 August 2014
- VeriFone and Secure Retail will honour extended support contracts to their full term. This includes any extended warranty, buyer protection, or other written customer commitments that have already been purchased.
- VeriFone will also continue to repair units up to the end of support date subject to component availability.
